سشٿاچاري शिष्टाचारी sish̤ṭāchār-ī S 1. adj. Obliging, condescending, polite, complaisant. 2. s. f. A treat, a feast.

سوندي sondī S̱. s. f. The wash in which washer- men steep their cloth.

سپاره sipāra P (contract. of سي Thirty, and پاره A piece) s. m. One of the thirty sections, or the thirty sections into which the ḳurʼān is divided. See سيپاره.

ستاٴيس sattāʼīs सप्तविंशति S̱. adj. Twenty seven.

سولي sūlī S̱. 1. s. f. (शूला) An empaling stake. 2. s. m. (शूली) A name of Mahādeva. سولي دينا sūlī denā, or سولي چڙهانا sūlī chaṛhānā, To empale.

سباس सुवास सु Good, and वास Smell su- bās S. s. f. Sweet smell, fragrance, odour, perfume.

سورات siva-rāt S or siva-rātra or siva-rātri (for शिवरात्रि) s. f. A festival held on the four- teenth of the dark fortnight in the month of Phālguna (February-March) in honour of the birth of the linga or phallus.

سلطاني sult̤ān-ī A 1. adj. Regal, princely, belonging to a sovereign. 2. s. f. A kind of broad cloth. 3. Sovereignty, dominion.

سسير sasiyar S̱. (corrupt. of سس sas) s. m. The moon.
