راج rāj S̱. (राज्य r. राज Shine) s. m. Go- vernment, sovereignty, royalty, reign, kingdom. In compos. also (for राजा or rather for the gen. case राज्ञः) Prince, king. راجبهوبن rāj- bhūban (राजभवन) s. m. A royal resi- dence, a palace. راج بهوگ राजभोग rāj- bhog, s. m. Victuals placed before idols at noon. راج پت يا پتي rāj-pat or -patī (राज्य Kingdom, and पति Lord) s. m. A Hindū title, prince. راجپٿ राजपट्ट rāj-paṭṭ, s. f. Kingʼs cushion, throne. راجتلک राजतिलक rāj- tilak, s. m. The royal mark on the forehead; coronation. راجدوار राजद्वार rāj-dwār, s. m. The gate of a royal residence. راج روگ rāj- rog (राजरोग) s. m. 1. A mortal disease. 2. A consumption. راجسبها राजसभा rāj- sabhā, s. f. The kingʼs court or assembly. راج کنور rāj-kuṅwar (राजकुमार) s. m. A kingʼs son, a prince. راجکنيا राजकन्या rāj-kanyā, s. f. A princess. راجگادي rāj-gādī, s. f. Kingʼs cushion, throne. راجمندر राजमंदिर rāj- mandir, s. m. A palace, a royal residence. راجنيت राजनीति rāj-nīti, s. f. The art of government, the duties of a prince both in peace and war.

ريا riyā A (from رأي To see) s. m. Hypocrisy, dissimulation, subterfuge, evasion, affectation. ريا کار riyā-kār, Hypocrite, dissembler.

رينڐي renḍī एरण्ड S̱. s. f. Palma christi (Ricinus vulgaris). رينڐي کا تيل renḍī kā tel, s. m. Castor-oil.

رينکنا renknā H or rainknā, v. n. To bray (as, an ass).

رکهيا rakhiyā रक्षा S̱. s. f. Protection, keeping.

رکهوانا rakhwānā S̱. (caus. of رکهنا rakhnā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to keep, place, &c. See رکهانا rakhānā. رکهوا لينا rakhwā lenā, To take in charge.

رتنيان ratniyān H s. m. A kind of rice.

رکوع rukūﻌ A s. m. Bowing the body in prayer, &c. See رکعت rakʼaﻌt.

راحت rāḥat A (from روح Heb. To breathe gently, &c.) s. f. Quiet, repose, ease, tranquil- lity, pleasure.
