رديف radīf A (from ردف Heb. To follow) 1. s. m. A man riding behind another on the same horse. 2. s. f. The rhyming word of a poem. See under قافيه ḳāfiya.

رانجهن rānjhan S̱. (रंजन) s. m. A sweet- heart: Leander, the lover of Hero (who is called in Hindī Hīr).

رخ ruḵẖ P s. m. 1. The cheek. 2. The castle at chess. 3. Face, point, side, quarter. رخ پهيرنا يا بدلنا ruḵẖ-pherna or -badalna, 1. To be inattentive. 2. To reject. 3. To turn away from. 4. To be angry, to be displeased. رخ دينا ruḵẖ denā, To familiarize. رخ رکهنا ruḵẖ rakhnā, To continue friendship, to maintain friendly intercourse. رخ کرنا ruḵẖ karnā, To turn the face (towards), to proceed (towards); to attend to, to accede to.

رفضي rafẓ-i A s. m. A heretick. See رافضي rāfiẓī or شيعه shīʼaﻌ.

رو rau P part. act. (of رفتن To go) In compos. Going; as, پيشرو pesh-rau, Preceding, going or singing before another. رودينا rau denā, To copulate (used among women).

رنگواٴي rangwāʼī P. S̱. (from رنگانا) s. f. The price paid for colouring (particularly, for dying).

ريوت रेवत rewat S s. m. Name of a Rājā, who was father in law of Balarāma.

راٴي بيل rāʼe-bel H s. f. A flower so called.

رتن جوت ratan-jot रत्नज्योतिः S̱. s. f. 1. Name of a plant. 2. Name of a medicine, said to be good for the eyes.
