ڐهبوا ḍhabūʼā H s. m. A copper coin equal to a paisā.

ڐهٿهيا ḍhaṭhiyā H s. f. A cord used instead of a bridle.

ڐلوانا ḍalwānā H (caus. of ڐالنا) v. a. To cause to throw down or to throw, to occasion, &c. See ڐالنا ḍālnā.

ڐيـﮩڙ ḍehuṛ H s. f. A volley, several muskets dis- charged at once. ذ ذ Called ذال معجمه and ذال ثخذ is the ninth letter of the Arabic alphabet. Its existence in Persian, except as a substitute for د (see د), appears very doubtful. It is pronounced by the Arabs like th in the English word thou; but, in Hindūstānī, its sound is not to be dis- tinguished from that of ز z. In denoting num- bers by the letters of the Arabic alphabet, it stands for 700: and, by way of abbreviation, it is written for ذوالحجه the last month of the Arabic lunar year. If ذ be the first radical of an Arabic verb, the ت in the form افتعال is changed into د, and either the د or ذ is changed into the other of the two, which is doubled; as, from ذکر comes اذّکر or ادّکر.

ڐهالو ḍhālū H adj. 1. Slant, sloping. 2. part. act. (of ڐهالنا) Spoiling, doing mischief, casting,

ڐاهي ḍāh-ī S̱. (from दाह) adj. Malicious, spite- ful, envious.

ڐونڐي ḍoṅḍī S̱. s. f. Proclamation by beat of drum. See ڐهنڐهورا ḍhanḍhorā.

ڐانوان ڐولي ḍāṅwāṅḍol-ī S̱. s. f. The wandering without house or home, destitute state.

ڐومڙا ḍomṛā H s. m. 1. A low cast of Hindūs. 2. The name of a cast of Musalmāns, the males of which are musicians, and the females sing and dance in the company of females only.
