ادهین अधीन अधि and इन A master ad- hīn S. or ādhīn, adj. Obedient, dependent, sub- missive, subservient, docile, subject, humble. S. ادهینتا अधीनता (from ادهین अधीन) adhī- na-tā or ādhīna-tā, s. f. Submission, obedience, obsequiousness, servility, subjection, humility.

اروي arwī H s. f. A species of Arum, the root of which is used in food. (Arum colocasia: called, also, گهویان ghoyān, and in Bengal کچو kachū).

اشعه ashiﻌaﻌ A s. plur. (of شعاع) Rays of light.

امچور amchūr आम्रचूर्ण S̱. s. m. Parings of the mango dried in the sun.

اتسو उत्सव utsav S s. m. A festival, a jubilee, publick rejoicing.

اجکت a-jukt S̱. (अ and युक्त United with, fitted) adj. Unfit; s. f. Violence, oppression, compulsion. ¶ ajgut for ادبهت अद्भुत adbhut, q. v.

آتر आतुर आ and r. तुर Hasten ātur S. adj. Agitated, restless, distressed, afflicted.

آنٿهي ānṭhī S̱. (अष्ठि Kernel or stone of fruit) s. f. 1. Stone of fruit. 2. Coagulation.

ايتر ītar H part. act. (from اترانا itrānā, q. v.) Acting affectedly, &c. airy, apish.

آخر āḵẖir A (Heb. After) adj. Last, latter. s. m. End, termination, issue. adv. At last, finally. آخرکرنا āḵẖir karnā, v. a. To end, finish, conclude, terminate. آخرهونا āḵẖir ho- nā, v. n. To end, to be ended, &c.
