امرت अमृत अ and r. मृ Die amr̤it S. (vulg. imrat) s. m. The food of the gods, ambrosia, nectar, the water of life, what is immortal or renders immortal, any thing sweet, water, wine, a guava.

آشیانه āshiyāna P s. m. A birdʼs nest.

اشک ashk P s. m. A tear, tears. اشک افشان ashk-afshān, Shedding tears. اشک بار ashk-bār, part. act. Weeping, shedding tears. اشک باري āshk-bār-ī, s. f. Weeping. اشک رواني ashk- rawān-ī, s. f. Flowing of tears.

اشرفي ashrafī P s. f. A gold coin so called. (The Calcutta ashrafī is worth ₤1. 11s. 8d. and the gold of it is better than English standard gold by five shillings in the ounce, or about 1/16. By the regulations of May 1793, it should weigh 190.894 grains troy).

انچهیلا an-chhīlā H (ان priv. and چهیلا from چهیلنا To pare, &c.) adj. Unpared (as fruit, &c.); rude, unlicked, awkward, boorish.

ادهواڙ adhwāṛ S̱. (from अर्द्ध Half) s. f. A half. (Generally applied to pieces of cloth).

استسقا istisḳā A (inf. x. of سقي Heb. Was watered) s. m. The dropsy. استسقاي زقي is- tisḳā-i-ziḳḳī, Anasarca. استسقاي طبلي istisḳā- i-t̤ablī, Tympany. استسقاي لحمي istisḳā-i-laḥmī, A dropsy pervading all the members of the body.
