دهيل dahel H s. m. The name of a bird. (Co. racias).

دوران daurān A (from دور daur) s. m. 1. Time, age. 2. Fortune, vicissitude. 3. A revolu- tion, period, a circle, cycle. دوران سر daurān-i-sar, s. m. A swimming in the head, dizziness, giddiness, vertigo.

دوت dūt S̱. See دت dut.

دوڙا dauṛā H s. m. 1. A large basket (without lid). See دورا daurā. 2. (from s̱. دوڙنا q. v.) A highwayman (who robs on horseback).

دبستاني dabistān-ī P adj. Of the school.

دادار dād-ār P (داد Justice, and part. act. of آوردن To bring) s. m. Bringer or distributer of justice (an epithet of the deity).

داهنا dāhinā S̱. or dāhnā, adj. Right (opposite to left. Sans. दक्षिण South or right; because the earth, the navel of which corresponds to Hindūstān, has its head to the west, its feet to the east, the right side to the south, and the left to the north; or, perhaps, from the position of eastern people in adoration of the sun. In Arab. شمال denotes the north or left: and, this agrees with the manner in which the Roman augurs determined the regions of the heavens, according to Livy, I. 18.).

دچتا du-chitā S̱. (द्विचित्त) adj. Of two minds, wavering, distracted. S. دچهـ दक्ष (r. दक्ष Increase, make haste) dachh̤, adj. 1. Learned, scientifick, dexterous, able.

دبيلا dabīlā H s. m. 1. The name of a medicine. 2. A paddle.

دبنگ dabang H adj. Ill-bred, brutish, bar- barous, foolish, dolt, lout.
