Rustick, rural. ڐ ڐ Is written thus to denote the Nāgarī ड, which is the twenty-ninth letter of the Sanskrit al- phabet, and has no corresponding sound or cha- racter in the Arabic or Persian language. It is pronounced by applying the tip of the tongue inverted to the palate. It is sometimes used for د and vice versa, as डंड for दंड.
