خيره ḵẖīra P adj. 1. Dark. 2. Wicked, ma- lignant, vain. 3. Stupified, dazzled.

ختک ḵẖuttak P. (corrupt. of کتک kutak, see ختکا) s. A club or stick.

خاکي ḵẖāk-ī P adj. 1. Dusty. 2. Earthy, earthly; of ashes. 3. The epithet of a kind of arrow.

خطبه ḵẖut̤ba A s. m. A sermon or oration de- livered after divine service every Friday, in which the preacher blesses Muhammad, his successours, and the reigning sovereign.

خست ḵẖissat A s. f. 1. Stinginess, parsimony, avarice, penuriousness. 2. Meanness.

خصم ḵẖaṣm A s. m. 1. An enemy, antagonist. 2. ¶ ḵẖaṣam, A husband. خصم والي ḵẖaṣam-wālī, adj. f. A woman whose husband is alive. A. P. خصمانه ḵẖaṣm-āna, adv. Like a good hus- band, economically, with attention to domestick affairs.

خورم ḵẖụrram P adj. See خرم ḵẖurram.

خبير ḵẖabīr A (from خبر) adj. Knowing, wise, skilful, learned.

خله ḵẖala P s. A long pole with which they im- pel a boat, perhaps a rudder, trifles, idle talk, any thing which penetrates or goes down in a place, as a needle, &c., a wind causing sharp pain in the belly, a pain that comes suddenly in the side and joints, any thing that passes away by degrees or slowly, a written document signed by a judge.

خواصي ḵẖawāṣṣ-ī A. s. m. The place where one sits behind a great man upon an elephant.
