خرچ ḵẖarch A. s. m. Expenditure, spending, disbursement, expense, price, outgoing. (Plur. اخراجات). خرچ اخراجات ḵẖarch iḵẖrājāt, Expenditure. خرچ کرنا ḵẖarch karnā, To expend, disburse, spend. خرچ کودينا ḵẖarch ko denā (dakh. i. q. مارنا) To kill (?). خرچ هونا ḵẖarch honā, To be expended.

خم ḵẖam P 1. adj. Twisted, crooked, coiled, curved, bowed. 2. s. m. A coil, fold, ply, curl, ringlet, bend, curve, crook, bending, crookedness. 3. That part of a noose which encircles the neck. خم اندر خم ḵẖam andar ḵẖam or خم در خم ḵẖam dar ḵẖam, Twist within twist, curly, curling locks. خم ٿهونکنا بجانا يا مارنا ḵẖam-ṭhonknā, -bajānā, or -mārnā, v. a. To strike the hand against the arms previous to wrestling, &c., to challenge (as wrestlers do). خم چم ḵẖam-cham, or خم و چم ḵẖam-o-cham, 1. s. m. Coquetry, blandishment of a mistress. 2. adj. Elegant, graceful. خم چوگان ḵẖam-i-chaugān, s. m. The bat or instrument with which the game of چوگان chaugān is played. خم دار ḵẖam-dār, adj. Twisted, curled, bent, crooked, curved.

خاتم ḵẖātim A (from ختم Heb. To seal, to close, to finish) s. f. 1. A ring worn on the fin- gers. 2. A seal. خاتم المرسلين ḵẖātimu-l-mur- salīn or خاتم الانبيا ḵẖātimu-l-ambiyā, The seal of the prophets, i. e. Muhammad. خاتم بند ḵẖātim-band, A seal-setter.

خوباني ḵẖūbānī P s. f. An apricot, or a dried apricot with the kernel of an almond inserted.

خوشبو ḵẖụsh-bo P 1. adj. Sweet-smelling, fra- grant, odoriferous. 2. s. f. Perfume, odour. خوشبودار ḵẖụsh-bo-dār, adj. Aromatick, odori- ferous, fragrant.

خبر ḵẖabar A s. f. News, information, intelli- gence, advice, rumours, report, fame, account, care, notice. خبربسنت کي پوچهني ḵẖabar basant kī pūchhnī, expresses extreme ignorance or negligence. خبرخضري ḵẖabar-i-ḵẖiẓr-ī, Re- port, sudden news, guessing what is to happen. (خضر Ḵẖiẓr was a prophet, skilled in divina- tion; and hence, when from certain symptoms the publick guess at the intentions of govern- ment, &c. intelligence of such intentions, &c. is called خبرخضري). خبر دار ḵẖabar-dār, 1. adj. Careful, cautious, taking care, on (oneʼs) guard. 2. Informed, acquainted. 3. s. m. An informer, advertiser, a spy, a scout. 4. interj. Have a care! خبردارکرنا ḵẖabar-dār karnā, To put on (oneʼs) guard, to caution, to alarm. خبردارهونا ḵẖabar-dār honā, To be on (oneʼs) guard, to take care. خبر داري ḵẖabar-dār-ī, s. f. 1. Caution, care, taking care, carefulness. 2. Informing, getting information. خبر دهنده ḵẖabar-dihanda, adj. Intelligence-giving. خبر رکهنا ḵẖabar rakhnā, v. n. To be informed or acquainted. خبر عطر ḵẖabar-aﻌt̤ar (means simply) News. خبر کرنا يا دينا ḵẖabar-karnā or -denā, To apprize, to inform, to acquaint, advise, re-
