حباب ḥubāb A (or ḥabāb), s. m. A bubble. حباب اٿهنا ḥubāb uṭhnā, To bubble.

حامد ḥāmid A (part. act. of حمد) s. m. A praiser (peculiarly, of God).

حمد ḥamd A s. f. Praise. حمد کرنا ḥamd kar- nā, To praise or bless (God).

حقوق ḥuḳūḳ A s. m. plur. (of حقّ) Rights, dues, just claims, laws.

حريم ḥarīm A (from حرم) s. m. 1. A sacred place, a sanctuary. 2. The enclosure of the temple of Mecca. 3. A house or dwelling.

حکايات ḥikāyāt A s. plur. of حکايت q. v.

حمار ḥimār A (Heb. , from حمر To be hot, to be red; because, says Bochart, asses in the east are of this colour: forsan potius a fervore libidinis in hoc animale. Vide Ezech. xxiii. 20.) s. m. An ass.

حصول ḥuṣūl A (from حصل) s. m. Acquisition, at- tainment, profit, advantage, produce.

حلم ḥilm A (from حلم He dreamt, was mild and long suffering. Heb. To be fat, healthy, to dream: or, rather, transposed from To indulge, to spare) s. m. Gentleness, clemency, mildness, affability, gravity, wisdom. بي حلم be ḥilm, adj. Merciless, severe.

حساس ḥassās A adj. (superl. from حسّ) 1. Possessed of the five senses. 2. (used substan- tively) m. An animal.
