چپٿانا chapṭānā S̱. (trans. of چپٿنا chapaṭnā) v. a. To flatten. H.P. چپٿ باز chapaṭ-bāz, Femina libidini sap- phicæ indulgens. چپٿ بازي chapaṭ-bāz-ī, s. f. Congressus libidinosus duarum mulierum.

چيٿک cheṭak H s. f. 1. A miracle. 2. A de- ception.

چکن chikan P (Pers. chikin or chakin: also, چکين) s. m. f. A particular mode of working flowers on muslin or other cloth, embroidery. چکن دوزيا گر chikan-doz or -gar, s. m. One who performs chikan-work. چکن کاري chikan- -kārī, s. f. The making of چکن chikan.

چرکي charkī S̱. (from चित्रक) s. m. A leper.

چهينکويا chhenkwaiyā H s. m. A confiscator.

چٿکيلا chaṭkīlā H adj. Splendid, gaudy.

چنوٿي chunauṭī H s. f. 1. Encouraging troops in the time of battle (for which purpose there is an officer in Indian armies). 2. Selecting from an army the fittest men for a desperate enterprise. 3. A practice which formerly pre- vailed at Benares. (On the 11th of Jeṭh, shukl-paksh̤, the inhabitants were wont to swim across the river, and forming themselves into two parties, to fight with swords, clubs, &c.).
