چهڙنا chhaṛnā S̱. (r. चट Separate) v. a. To beat rice, to separate the husk from it. ¶ chhuṛnā, See چهوڙنا chhoṛnā.

چوکڙي chaukaṛī H s. f. 1. A bound, a spring, a bounce. 2. (s̱. see چوکڙا) A ring of pearls worn by men in the ears. چوکڙي بهرنا chaukaṛī bharnā, To leap, bound, bounce. چوکڙي بهولنا chaukaṛī bhūlnā, To forget oneʼs bound, i. e. to be fascinated, to have oneʼs senses benumbed. چوکڙي مار بيٿهنا chaukaṛī mār baiṭhnā, To squat.

چاه chāh P s. m. A pit, a well. چاه زنخ chāh- i-zanaḵẖ, or چاه ذقن chāh-i-ẕaḳan, The dimple of the chin. چاه کن chāh-kan, s. m. A well- digger.

چاتر chātar H s. m. A large net, a seine.

چهما chhimā S̱. or chh̤amā (क्षमा) s. f. Pardon, forgiveness, absolution. چهما جوگ chhimā-jōg, (क्षमायोग्य) adj. Venial. چهما کرنا chhimā karnā, To pardon, forgive, excuse.

چاليسا chālīs-ā S̱. s. m. 1. A dimness of sight which is supposed to come on at forty years of age, and often to be removed on approaching the forty-eighth or fiftieth year. 2. The for- tieth year of any era, or of the century.

چٿي chiṭṭī H s. f. The hen of the little birds called Amaduvades. (Fringilla amandava).

چودهري chaudharī H s. m. 1. The head man of a trade. 2. (in Bengal) A title of landholders superiour to تعلقدار taʼaﻌlluḳ-dār. S̱. H. چودهوان chaudah-wāṅ, adj. Fourteenth. چودهوين رات chaudah-wīṅ rāt, Fourteenth night of the moon.

چنوٿي chunauṭī चूर्णवती S̱. s. f. 1. A box for holding the lime used to chew along with betel. 2. A small spoon used to take out the lime.

چندها chundhā H adj. 1. Blinkard. 2. Bad (as, a hand-writing).
