چند chand चंद्र S̱. s. m. The moon. چندمکهـ chand mukh, s. m. Face bright or beautiful as the moon; adj. Having such a face. چندمکهي chand-mukh-ī, or چندبدني chand-badan-ī, adj. Having a countenance beautiful as the moon.

چوک chauk H s. m. 1. A market. 2. A square of a city. 3. A court-yard. 4. A square place filled, at marriages and on other occasions of rejoicing, with sweetmeats, which after certain ceremonies are distributed. چوک بهرنا يا پورنا chauk-bharnā or -pūrnā, To fill a chauk or square with coloured meal, perfumes, sweet- meats, &c. on some occasion of rejoicing. چوک پٿا chauk-paṭṭā, A seat on which the people sit and eat in the chaukā.

چترکار चित्रकार chitr-kār S s. m. A portrait- painter, a painter.

چکهانا chakhānā S̱. (caus. of چکهنا) v. a. To cause to taste.

چکتا chaktā S̱. (चक्र A circle) s. m. 1. A scraping of the skin, a scrape, a scar. 2. A slice, &c. چکتا دينا يا لينا chaktā-denā or -lenā, To scar.

چر char H s. m. 1. A ford, shoal, island. 2. Sound made by tearing cloth, &c.

چچوڙنا chachoṛnā H v. a. To suck (a dry substance from which nothing can be obtained).

چهانو chhāṅw S̱. (छाया) s. f. 1. Shade, sha- dow. 2. The reflection of any object in a mirror, &c. (Plur. چهاٴين chhāʼeṅ). چهانـﮩـ بانـﮩـ chhāṅh-bāṅh, s. f. Auspices.

چهيچهڙا chhīchhṛā H s. m. The skinny and re- jected part of meat, a piece of flesh.
