چهنکانا يا چهنکوانا chhinkānā H or chhinkwānā (caus. of چهينکنا chhenknā) v. a. To cause to stop, cause to seize, to cancel, strike out.

چهاتي chhātī H s. f. Breast, dug, bubby. چهاتي بهر chhātī-bhar, Breasthigh. چهاتي بهرآنا chhātī- bhar ānā, To weep. چهاتي بهرجانا chhātī-bhar jānā, To be chest-foundered. چهاتي پرپتهررکهنا chhātī par patthar rakhnā, To have patience. چهاتي پرمونگ دلنا chhātī par mūng dalnā (lit. to grind pulse on the breast) To do any thing in presence of another person by which he is vexed. چهاتي پهٿني chhātī-phaṭnī, To break, the heart, with grief or sorrow; to sympathize. چهاتي پيٿنا chhātī-pīṭnā, To lament, to regret, repent. چهاتي ٿهوکنا chhātī ṭhoknā, 1. To en- courage. 2. To assure. چهاتي ٿهنڐي هونا chhātī ṭhanḍī honā, To be pleased or overjoyed. چهاتي جلنا chhātī jalnā, 1. To have the heart-burn. 2. To lament. چهاتي کا پتهر chhātī kā patthar, Nuisance, pest. چهاتي کا جم chhātī kā jam (lit. the destroyer of the heart) is applied to a person or thing the presence of which is unpleasant, a pest, a nuisance. چهاتي کهولکي ملنا chhātī khol- ke milnā, To meet frankly. چهاتي گدراني chhātī gadrānī, The breast to swell (in young women). چهاتي لگانا chhātī lagānā, To lament, to grieve. چهاتي لگانا chhātī lagānā or چهاتي سي لگانا chhā- tī se lagānā, To fondle. چهاتي نکالکي چلنا chhātī nikālke chalnā, To stalk, to strut.

چهيلچهبيلا chhelchhabelā H adj. (dakh.) See خوش باش ḵẖụsh bāsh, under خوش ḵẖụsh.

چوٿي choṭī चूडा S̱. s. f. 1. A lock of hair left on the top of the head, the hair braided behind, a cue. 2. Top, summit. چوٿي کا هونا choṭī kā honā, To excel, to be pre-eminent or unrivalled. See چونٿي chonṭī.

چتربهجي चतुर्भुजी chatur-bhuj-ī S adj. f. Having four arms, an epithet of Devī.

چرب charb P adj. 1. Fat, thick, gross, viscous, oily. 2. (also charab) An overmatch. چرب دست charb-dast, adj. Active, ingenious; (met.) a thief. چرب زبان charb-zabān, adj. Smooth-

چهنٿاو chhanṭāʼo H s. m. 1. Detachment on fo- rage. 2. Beating rice to clear it from the husk.

چاريک chār-yak P s. One part out of four, a quarter.

چتهڙا chithṛā H s. m. A rag, tatter.
