چولي cholī S̱. (चोली or चोल) s. f. 1. A bo- dice, a waistcoat, the body of a gown, a jacket. 2. A small betel-basket.

چاليسي chālīs-ī S̱. s. f. Quarantine kept after the death of a relation, childbirth, &c.

چهپر chhappar H s. m. A thatched roof. چهپربند chhappar-band, s. m. A thatcher. چهپربندي chhappar-band-ī, s. f. Thatching. H. S̱. چهپرکهٿ يا کهاٿ chappar-khaṭ or -khāṭ (from खद्वा) s. m. A bedstead with curtains.

چن chan H s. m. A kind of sugar-cane.

چهٿکنا chhiṭaknā H v. n. To be scattered, dis- sipated or dispersed, to spirt, to spread. چهٿکناچاندني کا chhiṭaknā chāndnī kā, The diffusion of moonlight.

چوک chauk H s. m. 1. A market. 2. A square of a city. 3. A court-yard. 4. A square place filled, at marriages and on other occasions of rejoicing, with sweetmeats, which after certain ceremonies are distributed. چوک بهرنا يا پورنا chauk-bharnā or -pūrnā, To fill a chauk or square with coloured meal, perfumes, sweet- meats, &c. on some occasion of rejoicing. چوک پٿا chauk-paṭṭā, A seat on which the people sit and eat in the chaukā.

چپڙي chupṛī H adj. f. 1. Oiled, greasy. 2. Smooth, plausible. چپڙي بات chupṛī-bāt, Flattery, soft words. چپڙي روٿي chupṛī-roṭī, Cakes rich with clarified butter.

چاهيتا chāhītā S̱. (from इच्छा Desire) adj. Agree- able, desirable, beloved; sub. A sweetheart, one beloved, a darling.
