چٿکي chuṭkī H s. f. 1. A pinch. 2. Snapping of the fingers. 3. The hammer of a gun. 4. A mode of printing cloth or gulbadan. 5. Name of an ornament worn on the toes. چٿکي بهرنا يا لينا chuṭkī-bharnā or -lenā, 1. To nip, to pinch. 2. To throw out provoking insinuations. چٿکيون مين اڙانا chuṭkiyoṅ meṅ uṛānā, To put one off with a joke.

چوالا chawālā S̱. (corrupt. of چوپالا chaupālā) s. m. A chair, a sedan.

چيونٿي chyūnṭī H s. f. The diminutive of چيونٿا chyūnṭā, q. v. See also چينٿي chīnṭī. ح ح Commonly called ḥā-i-muhmala or ḥā-i-ḥut̤t̤ī, the sixth letter of the Arabic alphabet, does not occur in Persian, nor is there in Sanskrit any letter corresponding to it. It is one of the six guttural letters; its sound being an aspiration much stronger, and formed deeper in the throat than that of ه. In reckoning by abjad it stands for eight: and, in astronomical tables, it denotes the sign, Sagittarius. It is sometimes substituted for ه; as, in ضحاک which is for ده آک (ten vices; the proper name of that prince being بيورسپ or the lord of 10,000 horse; بيور in Darī signifying 10,000). ه Is sometimes used for it; as نـﮩ‍اوند nahāwand, properly نوح آوند nūḥ-āwand, the name of a city built by Noah, and also the name of a mode in musick.

چهدانا chhidānā S̱. (causal of چهيدنا chhednā) v. a. To cause to pierce, to perforate.

چربانا charbānā H v. a. To brace a drum.

چهوهرا chhohrā H s. m. A boy, a child.

چهٿکي chhiṭkī H s. f. Small shot, speck. چهٿکي دينا chhiṭkī denā, To flecker, to spot, to mark with strokes or touches. چهٿکي ڐالنا chhiṭkī ḍālnā, To splash. چهٿکي کرنا يا لگانا chhiṭkī- karnā or -lagānā, To spot, to speck, &c.
