چونٿي chonṭī S̱. (चूडा Tuft, crest, pinnacle, peak, summit) s. f. 1. The hair braided be- hind (tail), braid, cue, top, apex, summit, pin- nacle. 2. An ornament worn on the head by women. چونٿي آسمان پر گهسنا chonṭī āsmān par ghisnā, To be very vain or aspiring. چونٿي کٿ chonṭī-kaṭ, A slave. چونٿي کٿوانا chonṭī kaṭwānā, To be a slave, to be obedient. چونٿي کسيکي هاتهـ مين آنا chonṭī kisī kī hāth men ānā, To have a power over one, to subdue.

چچانا chuchānā H v. n. To drop, to be drenched with water, to be dripping wet with sweat, wa- ter, &c.

چکلانا chaklā-nā H v. a. To extend in breadth, to widen.

چهاتي chhātī H s. f. Breast, dug, bubby. چهاتي بهر chhātī-bhar, Breasthigh. چهاتي بهرآنا chhātī- bhar ānā, To weep. چهاتي بهرجانا chhātī-bhar jānā, To be chest-foundered. چهاتي پرپتهررکهنا chhātī par patthar rakhnā, To have patience. چهاتي پرمونگ دلنا chhātī par mūng dalnā (lit. to grind pulse on the breast) To do any thing in presence of another person by which he is vexed. چهاتي پهٿني chhātī-phaṭnī, To break, the heart, with grief or sorrow; to sympathize. چهاتي پيٿنا chhātī-pīṭnā, To lament, to regret, repent. چهاتي ٿهوکنا chhātī ṭhoknā, 1. To en- courage. 2. To assure. چهاتي ٿهنڐي هونا chhātī ṭhanḍī honā, To be pleased or overjoyed. چهاتي جلنا chhātī jalnā, 1. To have the heart-burn. 2. To lament. چهاتي کا پتهر chhātī kā patthar, Nuisance, pest. چهاتي کا جم chhātī kā jam (lit. the destroyer of the heart) is applied to a person or thing the presence of which is unpleasant, a pest, a nuisance. چهاتي کهولکي ملنا chhātī khol- ke milnā, To meet frankly. چهاتي گدراني chhātī gadrānī, The breast to swell (in young women). چهاتي لگانا chhātī lagānā, To lament, to grieve. چهاتي لگانا chhātī lagānā or چهاتي سي لگانا chhā- tī se lagānā, To fondle. چهاتي نکالکي چلنا chhātī nikālke chalnā, To stalk, to strut.

چوکهـ chokh H 1. adj. Sharp. 2. also chūkh, s. m. The name of a medicine, orris-root, orrice or iris-root.

چتردسي चतुर्दशी chaturdas-ī S s. f. The four- teenth day of the lunar fortnight.

چتلا chitlā चित्रल S̱. adj. Spotted, piebald.

چکو chakkū T. (چاقو or چاکو) s. m. A clasp-knife, a penknife.

چڙچڙانا chaṛchaṛānā H v. n. To crack, creak. ¶ chiṛchiṛānā, See چڙچڙانا chirchirānā.
