چام chām चर्म्म S̱. s. m. Hide, skin, leather. چام کي دام چلاني chām ke dām chalāne, v. a. To stretch to the utmost a temporary authority. (lit. To give currency to a coin of leather).

چکور चकोर chakor S s. m. The Bartavelle or Greek partridge (Perdix chukar: Gould. Per- dix rufa: Lath. Pers. کبک) said to be ena- moured of the moon and to eat fire at the full moon.

چهيونا chheʼonā छेदन S̱. v. a. 1. To pierce or to bleed a (تاڙ) tāṛ tree, to extract tāṛī (تاڙي). 2. To mark.

چاند chānd चन्द्र S̱. s. m. 1. The moon. 2. The crown of the head. 3. A white spot in the forehead of cattle, and many other things which are moon-like. 4. Name of an ornament. 5. A month. 6. A target (to shoot at). چاندچهپانا chānd chhipānā, To change as the moon. چاندرات chānd-rāt, End of the month. چاند تارا chānd-tārā, A robe made of flowering muslin, &c. چاندمارنا chānd mārnā, To fire at a mark. چاندني کهيت کيا chānd ne khet kiyā, The moon has risen.

چالاک chālāk P adj. Laborious, active, hard working, alert, fleet, nim- ble, ingenious, clever, dexterous, expert. چالاک دست chālāk-dast, adj. Dexterous, adroit, cle- ver. چالاک دستي chālāk-dast-ī, s. f. Sleight of hand, adroitness, dexterity, cleverness.
