جرات jurʼat A s. f. Courage, audacity, boldness, bravery, temerity, valour. جرات کرنا jurʼat karnā, To dare, to have the audacity or courage.

جلن jalan ज्वलन S̱. s. m. f. 1. Burning, heat, inflammation. 2. Passion, vexation.

جودهن jodhan S (योधन)s. m. Fighting, battle.

جفت juft P s. m. Evenness, party, a pair, a couple, a match.

جهاجها jhājhā H s. m. An intoxicating mixture made with bhang or hemp.

جڙي jaṛī जटा S̱. s. f. The root of a medici- nal herb. جڙي بوٿي jaṛi būṭī, s. f. Medicinal herbs, drugs, simples. S̱.H. جڙيا jaṛiyā (from جڙنا) s. m. 1. A jeweller, setter of jewels. 2. A striker.

جهٿلانا jhuṭlānā S̱. (from جهوٿهـ q. v.) v. a. To be- lie, to falsify.

جوت jot S̱. or joti (ज्योतिः) s. f. 1. Brilliancy, lustre, light. 2. The sunbeams. 3. The flame of a candle or lamp. 4. Vision. جوت مان jot-mān (ज्योतिष्मान्) Luminous, bright. جوت سروپ joti-sarūp (ज्योतिःस्वरूप Self- resplendent) adj. Luminous (an epithet of God). ¶ jot (from جوتنا jotnā, q. v.) s. f. Cultivation, cultivated land, tillage.
