جلاه julāh P s. m. 1. A weaver, of the Mu- hammadan religion. 2. (met.) A fool, a blockhead. جلاه ڐاڙهي julāh-ḍāṛhī, s. f. A short round beard, such as julāhs usually wear.

جمعيت jam-īﻌyat A s. f. 1. Collection, assem- blage, accumulation of followers, &c. 2. Wealth. 3. Recollection, reflection. 4. Peace of mind.

جيسا jaisā यादृश S̱. adv. or adj. In the manner which, as, what-like, such as, according as. جيسا چاهئيي jaisā chāhiye, As may be desired, as it ought, sufficiently. جيسا تيسا jaisā taisā, As well as, so so. جيسا کا تيسا jaisā kā taisā, Such as in the original, the self same, unaltered. جيسا که jaisā ki, As though, as if.

جهلکا jhalkā S̱. s. m. A blister.

جز juz A s. m. 1. A part, portion, foot of a verse. 2. A division of a book consisting of eight leaves. 3. Ingredient. جزبندي juz-band-ī, s. f. Binding of a book. جزدان juz-dān, s. m. A cloth in which books are wrapped up, a port-folio. جزرس juz-ras, adj. 1. Penetrating, sagacious. 2. Frugal, economical. جزرسي juz-ras-ī, s. f. Frugality, economy, &c. جزگير juz-gīr, s. m. 1. An instrument used for keeping a book open when reading or writing. 2. A port-folio. جزلايتجزيٰ juz-i-lā-yutajazzā, An indivisible atom, any thing too small to be divided, a monade. جزوکل juz-o-kull, adv. Totally, entirely, great and small. A. جزا jazā, s. f. Retaliation, requital, return, com- pensation, reward, recompense.

جکهـ jakh यक्ष S̱. s. m. A demi-god, attendant especially on Kuvera, and employed in the care of his gardens and treasures. See جک.
