اپسکن अपशकुन apa-sakun S s. m. Any un- lucky or inauspicious object or omen, a portent. S. اپسمار अपस्मार (from अप and r. स्मृ smr̤i, Recollect, remember) apa-smār, s. m. The epi- lepsy, falling sickness.

باسک bāsak S̱. (वासुकि) s. m. The chief of serpents, which is fabled to support the universe, and which was used as a string to whirl the mountain Mandar in churning the ocean for the amr̤it, &c.

سکاکي sakkāk-ī A. s. f. The business of a cutler.

سکت sakat S̱. or sakti (शक्ति) s. f. 1. Power, strength, ability. 2. sakti, The energy or active power of a deity, personified as his wife, as Gaurī of Siva, Laksh̤mī of Vish̤ṇu. 3. The female organ as the counterpart of the phallick personification of Siva, and worshipped either literally or figuratively by a sect of Hindūs, thence termed saktas. (Wilson).

سکته sakta A (from سکت) s. m. A trance, an apoplexy, a pause, vacancy, hiatus.
