آب حرام āb-i-ḥarām P s. Wine: the tears of a person who weeps hypocritically and sorrowless.

آرام ārām P s. m. Ease, rest, health, relief, re- pose, comfort. آرام پانا ārām pānā, To recover. آرام دینا ārām denā, To ease, appease, assuage, relieve, repose. آرام طلب ārām-t̤alab, adj. Idle, slothful, a lover of ease. آرام کرنا ārām karnā, To rest, to repose.

آرام आराम आ and r. रम Sport ā-rām S. s. m. A pleasure-garden, grove.

آرامي ārām-ī P adj. A lover of ease; idle, sloth- ful.

آرامگاه ārām-gāh P s. f. A resting-place; a bed- chamber. فردوس آرامگاه firdaus-ārāmgāh, Resting in paradise (an epithet applied to Muhammad Shah).

آرامیده ārāmīda P adj. At rest, at ease.

ابرام ibrām A (inf. iv. of برم) s. m. Solicitation, entreaty, urgency, distressing.

اجرام ajrām A s. plur. (of جرم) Bodies.

احترام iḥtirām A (inf. viii. of حرم) s. m. Act of honouring, veneration, reverence, attention, treating with respect.

احرام iḥrām A (inf. iv. of حرم) s. m. Act of for- bidding or interdicting, putting on the pilgrimʼs habit at a certain distance from Mecca, determi- nation or resolution. (At a certain distance from Mecca, the pilgrims interdict themselves all worldly enjoyments, &c. There their reso- lution is fixed to complete the pilgrimage; and, hence, the word means the determination then formed). جامۀ احرام jāma-i-iḥrām, The gar- ment worn by pilgrims on entering Mecca.

ادهرامرت अधरामृत adharāmr̤ita S s.m. Nectar of the lips.

انصرام inṣirām A (inf. vii. of صرم Ch. He cut) s. m. The being cut or broken off; finishing, accomplishing, accomplishment, termination, conclusion.

اکرام akrām A s. plur. (of کرم) Favours, kindnesses, obligations, honour, respect.

اکرام ikrām A (inf. iv. of کرم) s. m. Honouring, complimenting, treating with attention and ce- remony, veneration, respect.
