آب زلال āb-i zulāl P s. Pure, limpid, wholesome water. S̱. ابس (अ and वश Power, will) a-bas, adj. Powerless, without choice.

اجلال ijlāl A (inf. iv. of جلّ) s. m. The bestowing or acknowledging of greatness; magnificence, glory, honour, respect.

اختلال iḵẖtilāl A (inf. viii. of خل) s. m. f. 1. Interruption, disturbance, obstacle. 2. Need.

استدلال istidlāl A (inf. x. of دلالت) s. m. Seeking proof, arguments or reasons; demonstration, argument. S. استر अस्त्र (r. अस Throw) astr, s. m. A mis- sile weapon, a weapon in general.

استقلال istiḳlāl A (inf. x. of قلّت) s. m. Absolute power, absolute authority, sovereignty, indepen- dence, absoluteness, intrepidity, resolution, per- severance, vigour.

استہلال istihlāl A (inf. x. of هلال) s. m. The ap- pearing of the new moon.

اغلال ag̠ẖlāl A s. plur. (of غل g̠ẖull) Yokes, chains.

الالنا ulālnā S̱. (caus. of اللنا ulalnā, q. v.) v. a. To overset, to lay over to one side.

بلال bilāl A n. prop. Name of the man who in Muḥammadʼs time called the people to prayers. H.S̱. بلالانا bulā lānā, v. a. To summon.

جلال jalāl A s. m. Dignity, state, majesty, gran- deur, splendour, power, glory.

جلالت jalālat A s. f. See جلال jalāl.

جلالي jalāl-ī A. adj. Divine.

جلاليه jalāliya A s. m. 1. A person who worships the more terrible attributes of the deity. 2. The followers of سيدجلال بخاري 3. A kind of pigeon.

حلال ḥalāl A (from حل) adj. 1. Legal, allow- able, lawful, right. 2. (A woman) laying aside mourning for the death of her husband, at the expiration of 100 days (during which time she is not by law allowed to marry). حلال خور ḥalāl-ḵẖor, s. m. A person of the lowest cast, generally a sweeper, or employed

حلاله ḥalāla A s. f. A woman married again with her first divorcer after she had been di- vorced by her second husband.
