کهونا khonā S̱. 1. v. a. (from क्षय Loss, waste) To lose, to part with, to get rid of, to waste, to squander; s. m. losing. 2. s. m. A leaf which contains a parcel of betel or flowers, &c.

کهونپا khonpā H (Beng.) s. m. The hair of the head braided or tied up on the top of the head.

کهونٿا khonṭā H adj. Deficient, adulterated, bad (as, coin), false, deceitful. ¶ khūnṭā, s. m. 1. A tent-pin, a pin, a peg, nail. 2. Protection. کهونٿي کي بل کودنا khūnṭe ke bal kūdnā, To become insolent relying on protection. (The idea seems to be taken from a personʼs teasing an animal, which, being fastened by a rope to a pin, is unable to get at him: so that کهونٿا is only indirectly a protection by restraining the adver- sary).

کهونچ khonch H s. f. A cut or rent in cloth, &c.

کهونچا khonchā H s. m. A thrust, stuffing.

کهونچا کهانچي khonchā-khānchī H s. f. 1. Thrusting, stuffing. 2. Mutual wrangling or quar- relling.

کهونچنا khonchnā H v. a. To thrust, to stuff.

کهونچي khonchī H s. f. 1. Any thing stuffed into another, as grass into thatch. 2. Trifling pur- chases. 3. Part of grain which is to be parched taken as pay by the person who parches it. 4. Something paid by those who draw water at a well to the bihishtī, who attends there with his bucket, for the use of it.

کهونڐلا khonḍlā कोटर S̱. adj. Toothless, hol- low.

کهونڐکل khonḍkal कोटर S̱. s. m. A hollow.

کهونکهنا khonkhnā S̱. (Sans. खक्खन) v. n. To cough.

کهونکهي khonkhī S̱. s. f. A cough.
