ادهکپالي adhkapālī S̱. (अर्द्ध Half and कपाल Skull) s. f. 1. A pain affecting half the head; the hemicrany. 2. A nut of Areca shaped like a hemisphere (so named, probably, from two kernels being contained in one shell; and, to

کپ کپي kap-kapī S̱. (from कम्प) s. f. Shivering, trembling, quaking, perturbation.

کپار kapār S̱. s. m. See کپال kapāl.

کپاري kapārī H 1. adj. Shrewd, sly. 2. s. m. A cast in Bengal, who sell greens, &c.

کپاري kapārī कपालिन् S̱. s. m. 1. A title of Siva, who carries a skull in his hand and a chain of skulls round his neck. 2. A cavesson. اردهہ کپاري ardh-kapārī (अर्द्धकपालीय) 1. Pain of half the head, Hemicrania. 2. An areca-nut having two kernels, or rather one of those kernels which are convex on one side and flat on the other, where it was in contact with its fellow. (These nuts, from the doctrine of signatures, are said to be a remedy for the He- micrania).

کپالي kapāl-ī S See s̱. کپاري kapārī. کپالي آسن kapālī-āsan, An attitude of faḳīrs in worship, standing on their heads. کپالي کريا kapālī-kriyā (कपालक्रिया) A ceremony among Hindūs. When a dead body is burning and nearly re- duced to ashes, the nearest relation breaks the skull with the stroke of a bamboo and pours melted butter into the cavity. Hence, kapāl- kriyā karnā, To think intensely, to beat or cudgel oneʼs brains.

کپاٿ कपाट kapāt S s. m. A shutter, a door.

کپي kapī S̱. (Sans. कपि) s. m. A monkey. ¶ kuppī (Sans. कुतुप) s. f. A vial, a skin, a leathern bottle.
