اجامل ajāmil S n. prop. Name of a great sin- ner and penitent.

انجام anjām P s. m. 1. End, termination, accom- plishment. 2. Accident, vexation. انجام کرنا anjām-karnā, To accomplish.

انجاما an-jāmā S̱. (अन् priv. and जन्म Birth) adj. Barren (land) in which nothing will grow.

جام jām P s. m. 1. A goblet, cup, glass, any vessel for drinking out of, a bowl. 2. A mirror. جام جم يا جمشيد jām-i-jam or -jamshīd, s. m. The mirror of Jamshīd, in which he saw what- ever he wished. جام جـﮩ‍ان نما jām-i-jahān-numā, A pharos. جام لب ريز jām-i-lab-rez, A bumper.

جامداني jāmdānī P. s. f. 1. A kind of cloth in which the flowers are wove and not worked (generally muslin). 2. A kind of leather bas- ket. 3. (Applied to utensils of metal, &c.) adj. Flowered, sculptured or embossed.

جامع jāmiﻌ A (from جمع) 1. part. act. Com- pleting, comprehending, collecting; collector, compiler, compriser. 2. adj. All, whole, uni- versal, collective. 3. s. f. Becoming oneʼs clothes. جامه وار jāma-wār, 1. adj. Fit to make clothes of, suffi- cient for a jāma. 2. s. m. A flowered sheet or shawl, a kind of chintz.

جاموس jāmūs A s. m. A buffalo. (Pers. گاوميش).
