ارگجا argajā H s. m. Name of a perfume of a yellowish colour and compounded of several scented ingredients.

ارگجي argaj-ī H adj. Dyed with argajā (as gar- ments, &c.).

دگج दिग्गज dig-gaj (lit. S Elephant that sup- ports one of the four quarters of the earth; met.) Great.

ملگجا malgajā H adj. (dakh.) 1. Black and blue. 2. Brackish. (Harris).

گج پال gaj-pāl S (गज Elephant, and पाल Nourisher) s. m. An elephant-keeper.

گج پت गजपति gaj-pati S adj. The master or rider of an elephant; the title of a rājā.

گج गज gaj S s. m. An elephant. گجگمني gaj gamanī, or گجگوني gaj-gaunī, adj. f. Moving (stately) as an elephant (epithet of a woman having a graceful gait). گجنال gaj-nāl, A large gun or cannon.

گجا gajā H s. m. 1. Part of a cart. 2. A kind of sweetmeat.

گجانا gajānā H v. n. To work, to ferment.

گجر gajar H s. m. The chimes rung at the ex- piration of a watch or pahar of the day or night; but sometimes restricted to those at the close of the fourth; the word pahar being more commonly used for the middle chimes. (Gilch.).

گجرا gajrā S̱. s. m. 1. (see گاجر) The leaf of the carrot. 2. An ornament for the wrist, a brace- let, bracelet of flowers. 3. The waving lines on mashrūﻌ (a kind of silk-cloth).

گجراهار gajrā-hār S̱. s. m. 1. A wreath or neck- lace of flowers. 2. A gold ornament of the same form.

گجربهت gajar-bhatt S̱. (see گاجر) s. m. A dish of boiled carrots.

گجمنه गज Elephant, and मणिह Jewel gaj-maṇiha S. s. m. See گجموتي gaj-motī.

گجموتي gaj-motī S̱. s. m. An elephant pearl (it being a popular idea of the Hindūs, that the finest pearls are to be found in the heads of elephants).
