ادام الله adāma-llāh A May God preserve (him).

استخدام istiḵẖdām A (inf. x. of خدم) s. m. Em- ploying, making use of the labour of another, asking or getting employment.

استدامت istidāmat A (inf. x. of دوام) s. f. Seeking to be permanent, quiet, steady, everlasting; assiduity.

اقدام iḳdām A (inf. iv. of قدم) s. m. Intrepidity, endeavour, effort, diligence, spirit, resolution, firmness, attention.

اندام andām P s. m. Body, stature, figure. اندام نہاني andām-i-nihānī, The private parts.

انهدام inhidām A (inf. vii. of هدم) s. m. The being demolished, demolition, abolition.

بادام bādām P (Sans. बाताम्र) s. m. An almond.

بادامه bādāma P s. m. 1. A silkworm in the aurelia or chrysalis state. 2. A sort of silk. 3. A dervisʼs garment formed of patches.

بادامي bādām-ī P adj. 1. Almond-coloured, al- mond-shaped. 2. A kind of eunuch.

خدام ḵẖuddām A s. plur. (of خادم ḵẖādim) Servants.

دام dām P s. m. A net, a snare. دام دار dām-dār, A person who uses a net, a fisherman. دامگـﮩـ dām-gah or دامگاه dām-gāh, Place of snares.

دام dāma A v. past tense. 3d pers. sing. mas. (from دوم) May (it) be perpetual. دام دولته dāma daulatuhu, May his fortune or prosperity continue. دام ظله يا ظلـﮩم dāma-z̤illuhu or -z̤il- luhum, May his or their prosperity continue.

دام दाम dām S s. A rope, cord, string.

داماد dāmād P s. m. A son-in-law. (Sans. जामाता).
