اچهوتا achhūtā S̱. (see اجوٿها) adj. Intangible (vic- tuals dressed for saints, &c.), inviolable.

بچهو bichchhū वृश्चिक S̱. s. m. A scorpion, the sign Scorpio of the Zodiack.

بچهوا bichhūʼā H or bichhuʼā, s. m. 1. A sort of dagger. 2. An ornament worn on the toes.

پچهوت pichhūt S̱. (from पश्चात्) 1. adv. Behind, afterwards. 2. s. m. Back of a house.

چهو chhū H s. (dakh. i. q. دعاپڙهکردم کرنا) Blowing on repeating a prayer (?).

چهوانا chhūʼānā H (causal of چهونا chhūnā) v. a. To cause to touch, &c.

چهواني chhūʼānī H s. f. Caudle given to a lying-in woman. See اچهواني achhwānī.

چهوت chhūt H s. f. 1. Defilement. 2. Con- tamination, touch.

چهونا chhūnā H v. a. To touch, to meddle with, to feel.

چهوي chhūʼī H s. f. Chalk.

چهوٿ chhūṭ S̱. s. f. 1. Remission, leaving. 2. Striking off hand or playing loose in fencing. 3. Radiance or splendour of jewels, reflection of a mirror, &c. 4. Giving money off hand or at will to jugglers, &c. at entertainments.

چهوٿنا chhūṭnā S̱. 1. v. n. To escape, cease, get loose, be let go or abandoned, be left, to remain, slip away, be discharged, be dismissed, to spout. 2. v. a. See چهوڙنا chhoṛnā.
