الوان alwān A (plur. of لون laun) 1. s. Colours. 2. adj. Of various sorts and colours.

بلوا balwā H s. m. A tumult, riot, sedition, in- surrection, mutiny, alarm.

تلوريا talwariyā S̱. (from تلوار) 1. s. f. A scimitar. 2. s. m. A swordman, one armed with a sci- mitar, a swordplayer.

جلوانا jalwānā S̱. (caus. of جلنا) v. a. To cause to burn.

جلوت jalwat A s. f. See جلوه jalwa.

جلوه jalwa A (or jilwa) s. m. 1. Splendour, lus- tre. 2. The bridal bed or ornaments. جلوه گاه jalwa-gāh, s. f. Nuptial throne, place of display. جلوه گر jalwa-gar, adj. Splendid, conspicuous. جلوه گري jalwa-gar-ī, s. f. 1. Blandishments, affectation. 2. Conspicuity, splendour.

جلويا jalwaiyā S̱. (from جلنا) s. m. Burner.

جهلوانا jhalwānā H v. a. Causal of جهلنا jhalnā, q. v.

حلوا ḥalwā A (from حلو) s. m. A kind of sweet- meat made of flour, ghī and sugar. حلوا سوهن ḥalwā-sohan, s. m. Name of a sweatmeat. حلوا نکالنا ḥalwā nikālnā, To beat severely.

حلوان ḥalwān A s. m. A kid, a lamb.
