ارتحال irtiḥāl A (inf. viii. of رحل) s. m. Act of marching or travelling; departure, death.

استحاله istiḥāla A (inf. x. of حول) s. m. Ac- counting or being impossible or absurd: changing of state.

الحال al-ḥāl A adv. Now, at present, presently, just now.

حال ḥāl A (from حال Heb. Turned, passed, changed) s. m. 1. State, condition, case. 2. Business, affair, matter, circumstance. 3. Pre- sent time, the present. 4. Ecstacy. حالات ḥālāt A s. f. plur. (of حالت) States, conditions, circumstances, cases.

حالت ḥālat A s. f. 1. State, condition, cir- cumstance, posture of oneʼs affairs. 2. Case. (Plur. حالات ḥālāt).

حالم ḥālim H s. m. Cresses. See هالم.

حالي ḥāl-ī A adj. 1. Modern, new. 2. adv. Present, now, soon. 3. Current (coin).

طحال t̤iḥāl A s. f. The spleen.

محال maḥāll A s. m. plur. (of محل or محله from حلّ) Streets, squares, courts, places, houses, districts, departments. ¶ muḥāl (part. pass. IV. of حول) adj. Impossible, absurd (plur. محالات muḥālāt). محال مطلق muḥāl-i-mut̤laḳ, Very difficult, absolutely impossible, quite absurd.

کحال kaḥḥāl A (adj. superl. of کحل) s. m. An oculist.
