بانان bāṅāṅ वाम S̱. adj. Left (hand). See بايان bāyāṅ.

باون bāwan वामन S̱. 1. adj. Dwarfish, di- minutive. 2. s. m. The fifth incarnation of Vish̤ṇu in the form of a dwarf. See اوتار avatār.

بايان bāyāṅ वाम S̱. adj. Left (hand, &c.). s. m. The bass part in musick, the bass sound (especially, of طبله t̤abla, ڐولک ḍholak and پکهاوج pakhāwaj, which are played on with the left hand). بايان پانوپوجنا bāyāṅ pāṅw pūj- nā, To acknowledge the cunning of an artful person.

بونا baunā वामन S̱. 1. adj. Dwarfish. 2. s. m. A dwarf; the fifth (avatār) incarnation of the deity. See اوتار.

بوني baunī वामनी S̱. s. f. A female dwarf.

ساٴين sāʼīṅ स्वामी S̱. s. m. 1. Lord, master. 2. (met.) A faḳīr. 3. The deity. 4. An imi- tative sound, as of wind. P. S̱. سايه sāya (Sans. छाया) s. m. 1. Shadow, shade, shelter, protection. 2. An apparition, spectre. 3. A petticoat. سايه بان sāya-bān, See سايبان sāya-bān. سايه تلي آنا sāya tale ānā, To take protection or shelter. سايه کسيکا پڙنا sāya kisī kā paṛnā, To imitate the manner of another. سايه دار sāya-dār, 1. Shady. 2. A protector. سايه گستر sāya-gustar, Spreading a shade, shading; shader, favourer. سايه هونا کسي کو sāya honā kisī ko, A demon appearing to, or possessing any one.

سوامي स्वामी swāmī S s. m. 1. Master, owner, lord, proprietor. 2. A husband. 3. The ḍanḍī faḳīrs are so called. سوامي دروه swāmī-droh, Injuring oneʼs master, treachery, perfidy.

کهٿمل khaṭ-mal खट्वामल S̱. s. m. A bug. H. S̱. کهٿميٿها khaṭmīṭhā (کهٿا and Sans. मिष्ट) s. m. A mixed taste of sour and sweet; agree- able.
