آسمنتات आसमन्तात् आ, सम् and अन्त End āsamantāt S. adv. All around, on every side; wholly, altogether.

آندو āndū अन्दू S̱. s. m. The chain or rope with which the feet of elephants are tied up.

آنن आनन आ and r. अन Breathe ānan S. s. m. Mouth, face, visage.

اتنت अत्यन्त अति and अन्त End atant S. or atyant, adj. Very much, excessive, great.

ان راگ अनुराग anu-rāg S s. m. Affection, love, passion.

ان راگي अनुरागी anu-rāg-ī S part. act. Making friendship, loving, caressing.

ان مان अनुमान अनु and r. मा Measure anu-mān S. s. f. Inference, guess, hypothesis.

ان واد अनुवाद अनु and r. वद Speak anu-vād S. s. m. Repetition, answer; reviling.

ان وادي अनुवादी anu-vād-ī S s. m. A defen- dant, an opponent.

ان پان अनुपान अनु and पान Drink anu- pān S. s. m. Any thing in which a medicine is mixed to facilitate the taking of it, or which is swallowed after the medicine; a fluid vehicle (in medicine).

ان پورنا anna-pūrnā अन्न पूर्ण S̱. s. m. Satiety of food.

ان کوٿ अन्नकूट अन्न Victuals, and कूट A heap anna-kūṭ S. s. m. A festival celebrated by Hindūs, on the day following the دیوالي dewālī, by offering a large quantity of meats to God.

ان अनु anu S prep. After (in time, place, rank and degree); according to, in imitation of. It is the reverse of अभि abhi.

ان अन् an S A prefix of negation, privation or diminution, used properly before words begin- ning with a vowel only; ا or अ being adopted before consonants: in Hindī, however, ان fre- quently occurs with consonants. So اننت an- -ant, اندیکها an-dekhā.

ان अन्न an S or ann, s. m. Food, victuals, grain.
