تکفل takafful A (inf. v. of کفل) s. m. 1. Taking security. 2. Becoming security for another; bail.

تکفير takfīr A (inf. ii. of کفر or کفاره) s. f. 1. Co- vering. 2. Expiating a crime, doing penance or paying a mulct as atonement. 3. Humbling oneʼs self before another (putting the hand upon the breast, and inclining the head), showing distant respect. 4. Accusing one of impiety, calling him infidel, making one an unbeliever. 5. Guiltiness.

تکفين takfīn A (inf. ii. of کفن) s. f. Putting on the winding sheet, laying in the coffin, &c. shrouding, sepulture. تکفين کرنا takfīn karna, To shroud, to coffin.

متکفل mutakaffil A part. act. (V. of کفل) Be- coming surety, undertaking; bail or surety (the person).

کفل kafal A s. f. The buttocks (of a horse, &c.).

کفن kafan A s. m. A shroud (coffin). کفن پهاڙکي بولنا kafan phāṛke bolnā, Expresses the impos- sibility of remaining silent on the sight of some- thing wonderful. کفن چور kafan-chor, A shroud- stealer; caitiff, miscreant. A.H. کفنانا kafnānā (from کفن) v. a. To shroud, to dress for the grave.

کفني kafnī A. s. f. A dress worn by faḳīrs.

کفو kufū A (from کفأ) s. m. Tribe, cast, family, brotherhood. 2. adj. Alike, equal, resembling.

کفيل kafīl A (from کفل) s. m. A security, surety, ransomer, hostage, bail (the person).
