آوشيک आवश्यक āvashyak S s. Necessity. S. اوشده औषध (from ओषधी An annual plant) aush̤adh, s. f. A medicament, a drug, any herb, mineral, &c. used in medicine.

انيک अनेक अन् priv. and एक One an-ek S. adj. Many, much, abundant.

انگيکار अंगीकार angīkār S s. m. An agree- ment, a promise. انگيکارکرنا angīkār karnā, To agree to, accept, receive. S. انل अनिल (r. अन Breathe) anil, s. f. Wind, air. S. انل अनल (r. अन Live) anal, s. f. Fire.

اوديچ avadīch उदीच्य S̱. s. m. Name of a tribe of Gujrātī Brāhmans.

ايڙ eṛ H s. f. Spurring; spur. ايڙمارنا eṛ mārnā, To spur.

ايڙي eṛī H s. f. The heel. ايڙي ديکهو eṛī dekho, Look at your heel (look at home): a phrase used to obviate the effect of an evil eye.

ايک एक ek S adj. One; only. ايگ آد ek ād, A half, a part, some, some few. ايک بار ek bār or ايک باري ek bār-ī or ايک بارگي ek bārgī, Once, all at once. ايک دست ek dast, Alto- gether, entire. ايک دل ek dil, Unanimous, of one mind. ايک سان ek sāṅ, adj. Alike, simi- lar, identical. ايک سر ek sar, All at once, all together. ايک سي دن نرهني ek se din na rahne, Is used to denote a change of condition, most commonly from good to evil, but sometimes the reverse. ايک کي دس سناني ek kī das sunānī, To reply ten (words) for one (spoken of a person who replies with many words, especially in giving abuse). ايک قلم ek ḳalam, or ايک لخت ek laḵẖt, All together, entirely, at once. ايک لوتا ek-lautā, adj. ايکادسي एकादशी ekādas-ī S s. f. The eleventh day of the lunar fortnight.

ايکانت एकांत एक One, and अन्त Bound, limit ekānt S. or ايکانت مين ekānt meṅ, adv. Aside, apart, alone, on one side or part.
