آئين āʼīn P s. m. Regulation, institute, statute, rules, common law (the laws delivered by Mu- hammad being called شرع sharﻌ, and those established by princes, آئين ā-īn), custom, manner.

آهنين āhan-īṅ P adj. Of iron, iron, made of iron. آهنين پنجه āhanīṅ- panja, adj. Iron-handed, strong, powerful.

آينده āyanda P or āʼịnda, part. act. (of آمدن) Coming, the future. adv. In future.

آينده رونده āyanda ravanda P part. act. (from آمدن To come, and رفتن To go) Coming and going, passing to and fro, comer and goer.

آينه āʼīna P s. m. 1. A mirror, a looking-glass. 2. The kneepan. آين بسته āʼīn-basta, or بسته آين basta-āʼīn, or آينه بند āʼīna-band, Adorned with mirrors. آينه بندي āʼīna-bandī, s. f. Or- namenting with mirrors. آينه دار āʼīna-dār, The maid who holds the mirror. آينه رو āʼīna-rū, Having a face bright as a mirror. آينه ساز āʼīna-sāz, A mirror-maker. آينه سازي āʼīna- sāz-ī, s. f. Mirror-making. آينه محل āʼīna- maḥal (a glazed house) An apartment the walls of which are covered with mirrors.

آيه āya A s. m. A sentence of the ḳurʼān. See آيت āyat.

آيو āyū S or āyu आयुः s. Age.

آيوربل आयुर्बल āyurbal S s. f. Age. See آيربل.

آيوردا āyūrdā S̱. s. f. Age: see آوردا. P. A. اي واي ai wāe (Pers. اي and Arab. واي) in- terj. Alas! alas!

ادنيٰ adnạ A adj. compar. See ادنا adnā.

اعليٰ aﻌlạ A adj. compar. (of عالي) Higher, su- periour, highest, most high, most exalted, su- preme, lofty, eminent, excellent.

اعميٰ aﻌmạ A adj. Blind.

افعيٰ afʼāﻌ A (vulg. afīﻌ) s. m. A serpent, basilisk, asp, viper.

اقصيٰ aḳṣā A adj. compar. (of قصي) Extreme, most distant; the extreme, ex- tremely.

انميل an-mel S̱. adj. Discordant, heterogeneous.
