بلوط balūt̤ A or prop. ballūt̤, s. m. An acorn, an oak, a chestnut-tree.

توطن tawaṭṭun A (inf. v. of وطن) s. m. Fixing oneʼs residence in a country, residence.

خطوط ḵẖut̤ūt̤ A s. plur. of خط ḵẖat̤t̤, q. v.

طوطا t̤otā H s. m. A parrot.

طوطي t̤ūt̤ī P (from Pers. توتي) s. f. A parrot, a paroquet. طوطي کي سي هونٿهـ مل ڐالنا t̤ūt̤ī ke se honṭh mal ḍālnā (lit.) To rub or twist oneʼs parrot-like lips, is used by way of an affectionate or friendly admonition; thus: بولا نکراي يار تو هر يک سي بگڙکر مل ڐاليگا طوطي سي کوٴي هونٿهـ پکڙکر Bolā na kar ai yār tū har yak se bigaṛkar; mal ḍālegā t̤ūt̤ī se koʼī honṭh pakaṛkar, Do not, my love, indulge in the habit of speaking an- grily to every one; lest some one should twist those lips of thine which emulate the parrotʼs in redness.

غوط g̠ẖot̤ A. (from غوطه q. v.) s. m. Consideration. غوط مارنا g̠ẖot̤ mārnā, To disappear. غوط مين انا يا جا نا g̠ẖot̤ meṅ ānā or jānā, To faint.

غوطم غاته g̠ẖot̤am-g̠ẖāta A. P. s. m. A game in which swimmers dip one another under water.

غوطه g̠ẖot̤a A. (from Pers. غوته) s. m. 1. Dipping, diving, immersion. 2. A dip, a dive, a plunge. غوطه باز g̠ẖot̤a-bāz, A diver. غوطه خور g̠ẖot̤a- ḵẖor, A diver, any thing that dips, or is dipped.

فوطه fot̤a P. (Pers. پوته) s. m. 1. A bag. 2. The scrotum, the testicles. 3. Tax, revenue, a purse. فوطه دار fot̤a-dār (vulg. پو تدار) A banker, cash-keeper, cashier, treasurer. فوطه داري fot̤a-dār-ī, s. f. Bankership.

قنوط ḳunūt̤ A (from قنط) s. f. Despair.

لوط laut̤ A s. m. 1. Any thing agreeable to the heart, an inclination, affection. 2. A cloak. 3. A man expert and expeditious in business. 4. Joining, bringing together (friends, &c.).

لوطي lūt̤ī A s. m. An inhabitant of Sodom, so- domite, præposteræ veneri addictus.

متوطن mutawat̤t̤in A (part. act. V. of وطن) adj. Inhabiting, residing; inhabitant, a native.

محوطه muḥauwat̤a A (part. pass. II. from حوط) s. m. An enclosure, an area, an enclosed or sur- rounded space; (or muḥauwit̤a, part. act.) a wall, &c. forming an enclosure.

مخلوط maḵẖlūt̤ A (part. pass. of خلط Chald. ) adj. Mixed, blended, confused.
