افواج afwāj A s. plur. (of فوج) Armies, crowds. افواج قاهره afwāj-i-ḳāhira, A victorious army.

افواه afwāh A plur. (of فوه) 1. s. m. Mouths. 2. s. f. Doubtful news. 3. Fame, report.

افواهي afwāh-ī A. adj. Reported, famed, noised about.

تفوق tafauwuḳ A (inf. v. of فوق) s. m. 1. Pre- tending to a superiority over others. 2. Doing any thing by degrees.

تفول tafauwul A (inf. v. of فال) s. m. Taking an omen (especially a good one from the word of another).

تفويض tafwīẓ A (inf. ii. of فوض) s. f. 1. Resigning, committing to another, cession, recommending, confiding to another. 2. Marrying a wife without a fortune.

سفوف safūf A (from سفّ To take a medicine in a state of powder and dry) s. m. A medicine taken dry and unmixed, a powder (in opposi- tion to an electuary).

صفوف ṣufūf A s. plur. (of صف) Lines, ranks, rows.

طفوليت t̤ufūliyat A s. f. Infancy, childhood.

عفوصت uﻌfūṣat A s. f. Astringency, bitterness.

عفونت uﻌfūnat A (from عفن) s. f. Corruption, in- fection, stink, fetidness.

عنفوان uﻌnfuwān A s. m. 1. The beginning (of any thing). 2. Vigour. 3. The flower of youth.
