استفسار istifsār A (inf. x. of فسر Heb. He ex- plained) s. m. Searching for information, asking an explanation, inquiry, interrogation. استفسار کرنا istifsār karnā, v. a. To inquire, interro- gate, demand an explanation, ask.

افسانه afsāna P s. m. A fiction, tale, story, ro- mance. افسانه خوان afsāna-ḵẖẉān, or افسانه گو afsāna-go, A story-teller, romance-teller.

افسر afsar P s. m. f. A crown, a diadem.

افسرده afsurda P adj. Frozen, withered, faded, benummed; dejected, dispirited, lowspirited, melancholy. افسرده خاطر afsurdā-ḵẖāt̤ir, De- pressed in mind, dispirited. افسرده دل afsurda- dil, Faint-hearted, lowspirited, dejected.

افسردگي afsurda-gī P s. f. Dejection, melancholy, lowness or depression of spirits.

فساد fasād A (from فسد) s. m. Depravity, ini- quity, wickedness, mischief, violence, war, hor- rour, mutiny, sedition, rebellion.

فسادي fasād-ī A. adj. Quarrelsome, vicious, mu- tinous, rebellious, seditious, mischievous, &c.

فسان fisān P or fasān, s. A whetstone.

فسانه fasāna P s. m. Tale, fiction, &c. See افسانه afsāna.

فسخ fasḵẖ A s. m. Violation (as, of an agree- ment), infraction, dissolving (a marriage), dis- location. فسخ کرنا fasḵẖ karnā, To break off (a purpose, &c.), to break (an agreement or pro- mise), to invalidate.

فسرده fusurda P or fisurda, part. pass. (of فسردن) Frozen, withered, dejected. See افسرده afsurda.

فسردگي fusurda-gī P s. f. See افسردگي.

مستفسر mustafsir A (part. act. X. of فسر Heb. and Ch. ) adj. Asking for explanation or interpretation, questioning, inquisitive.

مفسد mufsid A (part. act. IV. of فسد) A seditious person, author of evil, mischiefmaker, mis- chievous, noxious, incendiary. مفسدپن mufsid- pan, s. m. Litigiousness, seditiousness.

مفسدي mufsid-ī A. s. f. Seditiousness, mischievousness.
