ادغام idg̠ẖām A (inf. iv. of دغم) s. m. Redupli- cation of a letter, or the contraction of one letter into another similar.

ارمغان armag̠ẖān P or armug̠ẖān, s. m. Present, rarity, curiosity.

اشتغال ishtig̠ẖāl A (inf. viii. of شغل) s. m. Oc- cupation, employment, study, business.

اشغال ashg̠ẖāl A s. plur. (of شغل) Labours, cares, occupations, employments.

افغان afg̠ẖān P 1. s. m. See فغان fig̠ẖān. 2. n. prop. A people, called also Paṭhāns, inha- biting the hilly country to the N. W. of Lāhaur. In their history, they pretend to derive their origin, as well as name, from Afg̠ẖān, whom they account a grandson of Malik Tālūt (king Saul). As to religion, they are Mahometans, notwithstanding the claim they set up to a Jew- ish extraction. (Plur. Arab. افاغنه afāg̠ẖina or Pers. افغانان afg̠ẖānān).

افغاني afg̠ẖān-ī. P 1. adj. Of the Afghāns. 2. s. f. The being an Afghān.

بزغاله buzg̠ẖāla P s. m. A kid.

بغاوت bag̠ẖāwat A. (from بغي) s. f. Rebellion.

بغبغانا bag̠ẖbag̠ẖānā H v. n. To boast, bluster.

تغافل tag̠ẖāful A (from غفلت) s. m. 1. Negli- gence, neglect, indifference, inattention, inadver- tency. 2. Being absorbed as in sleep, &c. تغافل شعار tag̠ẖāful-shiʼāﻌr or تغافل کيش tag̠ẖā- ful-kesh, adj. Careless, inattentive. تغافل شعاري tag̠ẖāful-shiʼāﻌr-ī, s. f. Inattention, carelessness. A.H. تغافلي tag̠ẖāful-ī, s. f. See تغافل tag̠ẖāful.

تغاير tag̠ẖāyur A (inf. vi. of غير) s. m. Difference, diversity.

سيورغال suyūrg̠ẖāl P s. A fief, a feudal tenure.

شغال shag̠ẖāl P (Sans. श्रृगाल) s. m. A jackal.

غافل g̠ẖāfil A (part. act. of غفل) adj. Negligent, neglectful, inattentive, remiss, indolent, sense- less, imprudent, careless, thoughtless. (Pers. plur. غافلان). A.P. غافلي g̠ẖāfil-ī, s. f. Negligence, carelesness.
