اٿنا عشر is̤nā aﻌshar A Twelve; the twelve Imāms. اٿنا عشري is̤nā-aﻌshar-ī, adj. Relating to the twelve (Imāms).

بنات النعش banātu-n-naﻌsh A s. m. The constel- lation of the Greater or Lesser Bear, consisting of seven stars; four of which are conceived to bear the resemblance of a bier (نعش), and the remaining three to be the (بنات) daughters pre- ceding it.

تعشق taʼaﻌshshuḳ A (inf. v. of عشق) s. m. Being or falling in love, making love.

عشرت iﻌshrat A (vulg. aﻌshrat) s. f. 1. Society, pleasant and familiar conversation. 2. Plea- sure, delight, enjoyment, mirth. عشرت فزا iﻌshrat-fazā, Increasing pleasure.

عشره aﻌshara A (from عشر) s. m. 1. The name of the first ten days of Muḥarram: see دها dahā, and عاشورا āﻌshūrā. 2. A decade.

عشق iﻌshḳ A s. m. Love. عشقباز iﻌshḳ-bāz, A gallant, amorous. عشقبازي iﻌshḳ-bāz-ī, s. f. Gal- lantry, amour, amorousness. عشق پيچا iﻌshḳ- pechā, s. m. The name of a flower (Ipomœa quamoclit) American jasmine. عشق پيشه iﻌshḳ- pesha, Love-practiser, lover. عشق هي iﻌshḳ hai, an exclamation of praise; excellent! well done! praise to! Mīr says:-- عشق انکي عقل کو هي جو ما سواهماري ناچيز جانتي هين نابود جانتي هين iﻌshḳ unkī aﻌḳl ko hai, jo mā siwā hamāre nāchīz jānte haiṅ, nābūd jānte haiṅ, Excellent is their understanding who esteem every thing besides me worthless and null.

عشقي iﻌshḳ-ī A. adj. Amatory, relating to love; lover.

عشوره aﻌshūra A s. m. See عاشورا āﻌshūrā.
