اعزاز iﻌzāz A (inf. iv. of عزت) s. m. Honouring, magnifying, respect, attention, honour, esteem.

اعزه aʼiﻌzza A adj. comp. plur. (of عزیز) The most excellent, worthy or dear.

تعزيت taﻌziyat A (inf. ii. of عزي) s. f. Condo- lence, lamentation, mourning. تعزيت نامه taﻌziyat-nāma, s. m. Letter of condolence.

تعزير taﻌzīr A (inf. ii. of عزر) s. f. Punishment, correction, reproof, censure, reprimand.

تعزيل taﻌzīl A (inf. ii. of عزل) s. f. Removing or deposing from an office.

تعزيه taﻌziya A (from عزي) s. m. 1. See تعزيت taﻌziyat. 2. It is become the name of the re- presentation of the tomb of Hasan and Husain, which is thrown into the river at the anniver- sary of the muḥarram. تعزيه خانه taﻌziya-ḵẖāna, s. m. The place of taﻌziya. تعزيه دار يا گير taﻌziya-dār or -gīr, One who observes the mourning in muḥarram: and, تعزيه داري taﻌzi- ya-dār-ī, s. f. The observance of it. تعزيه لينا taﻌziya lenā, To observe the mourning during the muḥarram, to go into mourning.

عز aﻌzza A 3d. pers. sing. mas. past tense, Was or is excellent or glorious. عزاسمه aﻌzza-smuhu, Glorious is his name. عزّوجلّ aﻌzza wa jalla (applied to the Deity) The great and glorious.

عزلت uﻌzlat A s. f. Retirement, retiring. عزلت گزيده uﻌzlat-guzīda, or عزلت گزين uﻌzlat-guzīn, A recluse, an hermit.
