اعتبار iﻌtibār A (inf. viii. of عبر Heb. and Ch. He passed over) s. m. 1. Confidence, trust, faith, belief, credit, reliance, respect, esteem. 2. Taking as an example, reasoning by compa- rison. اعتبار رکهنا iﻌtibār rakhnā, To give credit to, to believe, to trust.

اعتباري iﻌtibār-ī A adj. Of credit, creditable, trust-worthy; a confidant.

اعتزال iﻌtizāl A (inf. viii. of عزل) s. m. Seces- sion, abdication.

اعتصام iﻌtiṣām A (inf. viii. of عصمت) s. m. Abstaining from sin or what is unlawful.

دفعتا dafʼaﻌtaṉ A or dafʼaﻌtā, adv. Often, all at once, at one time.

سعتر saﻌtar A s. f. 1. Origanum. 2. A woman that loves a woman. 3. Instrumentum in mo- dum virgæ virilis, confectum ex serico vel simili materia, quo, ad medium corporis sibi alligato meretrices utuntur.

عتاب iﻌtāb A (from عتب) s. m. Reproof, re- primand, reproach, rebuke, anger, displeasure. عتاب کرنا iﻌtāb karnā, To reprimand, to rebuke, &c.

معتاد muﻌtād A (part. pass. VIII. of عود) 1. adj. Accustomed, customary. 2. s. f. Custom, habit, use.
