اطمینان it̤mīnān A (inf. iv. of طمأن) s. f. Tran- quillity, rest, repose, quiet, content, security. اطمینان خاطر it̤mīnān-i-ḵẖāt̤ir, Peace of mind.

تلاطم talāt̤um A (inf. vi. of لطم) s. m. Collision, dashing, buffeting (particularly, of waves).

طماع t̤ammāﻌ A adj. (superl. of طمع) Covetous, avaricious, wishful, greedy.

طمانيت t̤amāniyat A. (prop. طمانينت t̤umānīnat, from طمن) s. f. Rest, repose, tranquillity.

طمانچه t̤amāncha P. (or تپانچه from تپ) s. m. A slap, blow, box, thump, cuff, &c. طمانچه جڙنا يا لگانا يا مارنا t̤amāncha-jaṛnā, or -lagānā or -mārnā, To give a slap, to cuff. طمانچي سي منـﮩـ لال رکهنا t̤amānche se muṅh lāl rakhnā, To conceal oneʼs poverty from pride or high spirit.

طمطراق t̤umt̤urāḳ P (vulg. t̤umtaṛāḳ) s. m. Mag- nificence, grandeur, pomp.

طمع t̤amaﻌ A (Ch. To be sunk or immersed) s. f. Avarice, covetousness, greediness, avidity, ambition. طمع کرنا t̤amaﻌ karnā, To covet.

طمنچه t̤amancha T s. m. A pistol. See تبنچه.

غوطم غاته g̠ẖot̤am-g̠ẖāta A. P. s. m. A game in which swimmers dip one another under water.

فاطمه fāt̤ima A s. f. Name of Muhammadʼs daughter and wife of Ali.

قطمير ḳit̤mīr A s. m. 1. The thin pellicle on a date stone. 2. Name of the dog which ac- companied the seven sleepers. نقيروقطمير na- ḳīr o ḳit̤mīr, adv. Minutely, exactly, to the point.

لطمه lat̤ma A s. m. A slap on the cheek, a box on the ear, a blow.

متلاطم mutalāt̤im A part. act. (VI. of لطم) Dashing (waves, &c.).

مطمئين mut̤maʼinn A (part. act. IV. of quadrilit. طمأن Heb. and Chald. ) adj. Quiet, secure, tranquil.
