ابطال ibt̤āl A (inf. iv. of بطل Heb. and Ch. Procrastinated, did nothing or did in vain) s. m. Abolition, act of destroying or annihilating; confutation, refutation.

افطار ift̤ār A (inf. iv. of فطر) s. m. Breaking a fast. افطار کرنا ift̤ār karnā, To break oneʼs fast in the evening after fasting all day, as the Mu- salmāns do during the month of Ramaẓān.

الطاف alt̤āf A s. m. plur. (of لطف) Kindnesses, favours.

انقطاع inḳit̤āﻌ A (inf. vii. of قطع) s. m. The being cut or broken off; amputation, extinction, disjunction, separation, failure, adjustment.

بيطار bait̤ār A s. m. A horse doctor, a farrier.

تطابق tat̤ābuḳ A (inf. vi. of طبق) s. m. Simi- larity, congruity, concurrence, analogy, cohe- rence, cohesion.

تطاول tat̤āwul A (inf. vi. of طول) s. m. Usurpa- tion, tyranny, conquest, rudeness, insolence.

خطا ḵẖat̤ā A (from خطي Heb. To err) s. f. A mistake, errour, fault, crime. خطا بخش ḵẖat̤ā-baḵẖsh, A forgiver of errours, &c. خطا کرنا ḵẖat̤ā karnā, To err, miss, blunder. ¶ ḵẖat̤ā, n. prop. A part of Tartary, or northern China.

خطائي ḵẖat̤ā-ī A adj. Of Khat̤ā or northern China.

خطاب ḵẖit̤āb A (from خطب) s. m. 1. A title. 2. Conversation, speech, address. خطاب کرنا ḵẖitāb karnā, To address, to accost.

خطابت ḵẖit̤ābat A s. f. Preaching, eloquence, rhetorick.
