اسلاف aslāf A s. plur. (of سلف) Ancestors.

سلانا silānā S̱. (causal of سينا sīnā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to sew or stitch.

سلانا sulānā S̱. (शायन or causal of سونا) v. a. 1. To cause or put to sleep, to repose. 2. To kill, to murder. سلا دينا sulā denā, To kill, to murder.

سلاٴي salāʼī शलाका S̱. s. f. 1. A needle, or piece of wire for tinging the eyelids with a collyrium: also, used for depriving people of sight, which is effected by drawing it while hot close over the eyes of the sufferer. 2. A lead pencil.
