آب خوره āb-ḵẖụra P s. A narrow-mouthed vessel for drinking out of, a cup for drinking water.

آب شوره āb-shora P s. Water cooled with salt- petre.

آب نقره āb-i-nuḳra P Quicksilver, silver reduced by any menstruum to a liquid state.

آتش پاره ātash-pāra P s. m. A spark, a lighted coal; a beautiful person; an exciter of quarrels; quarrelsome.

آره āra S̱. s. m. A saw. See s. آرا sign. 1.

آواره āwāra P adj. Vagabond, wanderer, disso- lute. آواره هونا āwāra honā, To wander, to be distressed, to be oppressed, to be miserable. آواره کرنا āwāra karnā, To make a wanderer, to expel, to harass. آواره گردي āwāra-gard-ī, s. f. Vagrancy, wandering about. (Plur. آوارگان).

ابخره abḵẖira A s. plur. (of بخار or بخور) Vapours, exhalations, perfumes.

ابره abra P s. m. The outer cloth of a double garment. See ابرا abrā.

ابوهریره abū huraira A (father of the cat, because he was in the habit of carrying a cat with him) n. prop. One of the companions of Muhammad.

اجاره ijāra A s. m. 1. Hire, rent, a privilege or income of variable amount sold or let for a fixed sum. 2. A farm. A. P. اجاره دار ijāra-dār, s. m. A farmer of land or of revenue: one who has purchased the la- bour of another: the holder of a monopoly.

اجوره ajūra A s. m. Hire, rent, wages, fare, re- ward, fee. اجوره دار ajūra-dār, s. m. A la- bourer for hire (whether by time or by the job), a hireling.

اره arra P s. m. A saw. اره کش arra-kash, A sawyer. اره سرپرچلانا arra sir par chalānā, To oppress any one, to commit violence. سرپراري چل گئي تو بهي مدار مدار sir par arre chal gaʼe tau bhī madār madār, He has incurred punish- ment and disgrace, yet he has not reformed his manners.

ارهر arhar आढकी S̱. s. f. A species of pulse (Cytisus cajan), called also توار tūʼar.

ارهنا urihnā H s. m. Reproach, reproof.

ارهٿ arhaṭ H s. m. An engine for raising water. Same as رهٿ rahaṭ.
