اخلاق aḵẖlāḳ A s. m. plur. (of خلق ḵẖulḳ) 1. Manners, disposition, the good properties of man- kind, virtues. 2. Ethicks, morality, politeness.

خلاف ḵẖilāf A (from خلف) s. m. 1. Opposition, contrariety; in opposition, contrary to, against. 2. Falsehood. خلاف راٴي ḵẖilāf-i-rāʼe, Against (oneʼs) opinion, or will. خلاف شرع ḵẖilāf-i-sharﻌ, Illegal, unlawful. خلاف عقل ḵẖilāf-i-aﻌḳl, Contrary to reason. خلاف قياس ḵẖilāf-i-ḳiyās, Improbable, absurd, irregular, anomalous. خلاف قياسي ḵẖilāf-ḳiyās-ī, s. f. Improbability, irregularity, anomaly. خلاف مزاج ḵẖilāf-i-mi- zāj, Not agreeing with the habit of the body (medicine, &c.). خلاف وعده ḵẖilāf-waﻌda, Promisebreaker.

خلافت ḵẖilāfat A (from خلف) s. f. 1. Deputy- ship, lieutenancy, office or dignity of ḵẖalīfa (Caliph). 2. Imperial dignity, monarchy.

خلاق ḵẖallāḳ A adj. superl. (of خلق) used sub- stantively, The creator.

خلال ḵẖilāl A (from خلّ) s. m. 1. A toothpick. 2. Middle. 3. plur. of خلل ḵẖalal, q. v. 4. Ruin, defect, damage.

خلالت ḵẖalālat H or ḵẖilālat or ḵẖulālat, s. f.

خلايق ḵẖalāʼịḳ A s. f. plur. (of خلق) Men, peo- ple, creatures, the creation.
