تحفه tuḥfa A 1. s. m. A curiosity, rarity, the best or beauty (of a thing). 2. A present. 3. adj. Rare, uncommon, excellent, admirable, nice, choice, beautiful, wonderful, odd, singular. تحفه معجون tuḥfa-maﻌjūn, A wag.

تحفگي tuḥfa-gī A. (from تحفه) s. f. Excellence, rarity, beauty, neatness, elegance.

حفاظت ḥifāz̤at A (from حفظ) s. f. 1. Memory. 2. Custody, guarding, keeping, preservation, care, guardianship, protection. حفاظت کرنا ḥifāz̤at karnā, 1. To preserve, to defend, to be on oneʼs guard. 2. To repeat from memory. 3. To keep in memory.

حفظ ḥifz̤ A s. m. 1. Memory. 2. Custody, keeping, guardianship, protection, preservation. حفظ مراتب ḥifz̤-i-marātib, Observing etiquette, attention to the rank, &c. of persons addressed.

حفل ḥafl A s. m. An assembly, council, congre- gation.

محفه miḥaffa A s. m. See محافه muḥāfa.

محفوظ maḥfūz̤ A (part. pass. of حفظ) adj. 1. Guarded, protected, preserved, secure. 2. Com- mitted to memory.

مصاحف maṣāḥif A s. plur. (of مصحف) Books, volumes.

مصحف muṣʼḥaf A (part. pass. IV. of صحف) s. m. A book, a page, the ḳurʼān.
