انحصار inḥiṣār A (inf. vii. of حصر) s. m. Sur- rounding, encircling; restriction, limitation.

تحصيل taḥsīl A (inf. ii. of حصول) s. f. 1. Gain, acquisition, profit, attainment, learning. 2. Col- lection (particularly, of revenues). Pl. تحصيلات taḥṣīlāt, Collections, acquisitions. تحصيل کرنا taḥṣīl karnā, To acquire, to gain, to learn, to collect (revenue, &c.). A.P. تحصيلدار taḥṣīl-dār, s. m. A collector, a tax- gatherer. A.H. تحصيلنا taḥṣīl-nā, v. a. 1. To collect, to ga- ther a tax. 2. To oppress, to afflict. A.P. تحصيل داري taḥṣīl-dār-ī, s. f. Collectorship, tax-gathering.

تفحص tafaḥḥuṣ A (inf. v. of فحص) s. m. Investiga- tion, inquiry, search, disquisition.

حصار ḥiṣār A (from حصر) s. m. An enclosure, a fence, besieging, a fortification, fort, fortress, bulwark, fortified place.

حصانت ḥaṣānat A (from حصن) s. f. Firmness, stability, durability, steadiness.

حصر ḥaṣr A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. A siege, block- ade. 2. Reckoning, counting, number.

حصن ḥiṣn A (Heb. The arm, by which a thing is protected) s. m. A castle, fortification. حصن حصين ḥiṣn-i-ḥaṣīn, 1. An impregnable fortress. 2. The title of a book of Musalmān traditions.

حصه ḥiṣṣa A (from حصّ Heb. To cut, to di- vide) s. m. Share, part, lot, portion, division. حصه دار ḥiṣṣa-dār, A sharer. حصه داري ḥiṣṣa-dār-ī, s. f. Sharing, being entitled to a share. حصه رسد ḥiṣṣa-rasad, An equal share, a propor- tional part. حصه کرنا ḥiṣṣa karnā, To share, part, portion, apportion, divide, distribute.

حصول ḥuṣūl A (from حصل) s. m. Acquisition, at- tainment, profit, advantage, produce.

حصير ḥaṣīr A (from حصر) s. m. A mat.

حصين ḥaṣīn A (from حصن) adj. Fortified, strong.

متفحص mutafaḥḥiṣ A part. act. (V. of فحص) Inquiring, asking.

محصل muḥaṣṣil A (part. act. II. of حصل) 1. s. m. A tax-gatherer, a bailiff, a dun. 2. adj. Col- lecting, gathering, acquiring. A. P. محصلي muḥaṣṣil-ī, s. f. The duty or fee of the tax-gatherer. A. P. محصلانه muḥaṣṣil-āna, s. m. The fees of the bailiff or tax-gatherer.

محصن muḥṣan A (part. pass. IV. of حصن) adj. Chaste, continent.

محصور maḥṣūr A part. pass. (of حصر Heb. ) Besieged, surrounded, detained, restrained.
